Family Description:

 

This role will be accountable for the overall management of Record-to-Report activities; drive standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of processes;  create a positive and global mindset team  environment. 

 

Manages accounting functions and the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures in conformance with current FASB and SEC guidance. Manages compliance of Accounting processes within GAAP and company standards guidelines. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 requirement as applicable.

 


Scope:

 

            

-         Manages the Global Record-to-Report function

-         Manages and leads the timely accounting close and reporting operations ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies

-         Manages service levels and targets to ensure delivery as defined in Service Level Agreements (SLA)

-         Develops and evaluates performance metrics to measure operational efficiency against best practices

-         Conducts partnering activities across various functions (S2P, O2C, etc), fostering global collaboration

-         Continuously identifies process improvement opportunities and efficiencies

-         Participates in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals (financial, process, talent)

-         Focus on simplification, standardization, and quality improvement of Record-to-Report processes

-         Proactive involvement in determining and implementing best practices

-         Drives implementation of process improvement initiatives based on the Finance Shared Services roadmap

-         Provides leadership, coaching, training, and guidance to the team to enable them to deliver results at the highest possible standard

–        Creates an environment that allows team members to grow and be continually challenged

–        Ability to build deep and positive relationships across key stakeholders

–        Accountable for people management, costs, schedules, scope and continuous process improvement.

–        Collaborates within and across functions, seeking broad input to support decision-making and issue resolution.

 

Complexity:

  • Applies advanced knowledge, managing staff to resolve common and complex business and technical issues.
  • Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements.
  • May have budget responsibilities.


    Impact / Discretion:

  • Poor decisions or failure to deliver results will increase costs and may impact short-term goal achievement.
  • Activity is wide-ranging, affecting the immediate project area and the actions of suppliers and end users.


    Interaction:

  • Manages groups of supervisors and/or individual contributors.
  • Engages in recruitment and ensures ongoing individual development for direct reports.
  • Prepares and delivers performance reviews.
  • Makes compensation decisions.
  • Works internally and externally, ensuring that decisions are reached through effective and mutually beneficial collaboration.
  • Demonstrates leadership in applying SunPower values and inspiring others in team to do so.


    Supervision:

  • Reports to Finance Director.
  • In some instances, may have functional or third party responsibility and, therefore, have no direct reports.


    Minimum Education and Experience:

  • CPA and 8+ years of related experience ·  And 3+ years of people management experience
  • Post-graduate work is desirable
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
