We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategic Accounts Manager to join our sales team across the continental US in close partnership with our NA Director of Sales. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the residential solar industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of managing strategic relationships with key partners and clients. As a Strategic Accounts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth by fostering strong relationships with key accounts and maximizing business opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic account plan to drive sales and revenue growth within the residential solar industry. 
  • Identify and target key accounts, partners, and stakeholders to establish and nurture strong business relationships. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product development, and technical support to ensure alignment and effective execution of account strategies. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service. 
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess performance, identify opportunities for growth, and propose tailored solutions that align with their needs. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to develop insights that inform strategic account plans and product development strategies. 
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless order processing, timely delivery, and successful implementation of solutions for strategic accounts. 
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the company's presence, network with potential clients, and stay updated on industry developments. 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with strategic accounts, ensuring terms are favorable for both parties while maintaining company objectives. 
  • Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to the leadership team on a regular basis. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities that resonate with strategic accounts. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in the residential solar industry. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing strategic accounts. 
  • Experience working through complex contracts involving cross functional stakeholders (legal, product etc) 
  • Success in closing large, multi-year opportunities with long sales cycles 
  • Working understanding of how larger, national players – SunRun, Palmetto, Vision, Momentum, etc – operate and create profit 
  • In-depth understanding of solar energy systems, residential solar market trends, and emerging technologies. 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market data, financial information, and performance metrics. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and build relationships.
