Maxeon is seeking a Field Service Technician to support our recently announced SunPower One ecosystem and our integrated SunPower Reserve battery storage & hybrid string inverter solution and SunPower Drive Electric Vehicle Chargers.


The Field Service Technician will be directly supporting SunPower Partners, installers and end-user customers (residential / homeowner) in troubleshooting problems, performing repairs, upgrades and replacements along with commissioning activities  


In doing so, you will be supporting the efficient running of the field services activity, ensuring that services are carried out in a safe an efficient manner and that service level agreements (SLA’s) metrics are met, maintaining our high levels of customer satisfaction.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Perform all on-site technical activities related to the installation, commissioning, repair, maintenance of our SunPower Reserve Energy storage and SunPower Drive EV chargers in country, region and abroad when needed
  • Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis, both remotely and on-site
  • Schedule visits with customer and complete and submit any necessary reporting in a timely manner
  • Engage confidently and energetically with Partners /installer/end users over telephone and in person
  • Use digital platforms for remote troubleshooting as well as case management/ticket systems for updating case resolutions


Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience of post-high school technical education, such as electrical/maintenance associate degree plus 2+ years of work experience with electrical power systems or installations (highly recommended).
  • Qualified (or able to be certified) to install electrical storage equipment in applicable country.
  • Experienced as a technician for inverters, connectors, energy storage or solar power products.
  • Has the necessary electrical credentials required in applicable country.
  • Experience with ticketing/case management systems including field service functions
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organization is required. Must be punctual.
  • Confident with scheduling, reporting and software applications.
  • Great communication, able to adapt to the interlocutor (customer, installer).
  • Be willing to work flexible hours to adapt to customers/installers availability.
  • Experience in applying troubleshooting or issue resolutions guides for maintenance or electrical services
  • Self-motivated, with ability to work both independently (remote office) and within an international team, with diverse cultures
  • English (minimum B2 level) + German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, French as second language per specific country (minimum C1 level)



  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to access rooftop solar sites or basements.
  • Electrical & working at heights certification a plus
  • Must be able to lift 25kg solar panel/inverter.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestic and some international (Europe).
  • Driving license
