Family Description:
As part of the finance function, the role is responsible for Maxeon tax obligations in the US and the Group’s tax reporting. This role requies an individual capable of hands on involvement and ability to leverage on cross function resources to deliver.
Scope:
- Lead the preparation and/or review of U.S. Federal & state tax returns for domestic corporations
- Lead the US GAAP income tax provisions pursuant to ASC 740 and FIN 48 positions of the global operation. In particular, the analysis of the deferred position, payable/receivable position, total tax expense, and preparation of tax disclosures for the 20F and 6K filings
- Prepare and coordinate other aspects of US international tax compliance (e.g., Form 1042, Form W-8BENe)
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on sales and use tax matters (assessment of economic nexus, improvement of sales and use tax processes including automation and implementation of new flows in IT system, review of sales and use tax returns)
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
- Review legal entity structures and identify opportunities for efficiencies via legal entity rationalization
- Assess R&D credit opportunity, possible incentives and other tax benefit for the US operation
- Ad hoc business and project support for the US business expansion and to build relationship with internal and external stakeholders, in particular to carry out analysis and to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities to ensure compliance with local tax regulations
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on US tax implications of business decisions and planned transactions
- Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions and other tax-related activities.
- Support tax process improvements projects and SOX control management. This includes software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvement and ongoing continuous process improvement
Interaction:
- Reports to Senior Manager or Director and manage currently one (1) junior contributors.
- In some instances, may have functional or third party engagement responsibility.
- Engages development for direct reports, prepares and delivers performance reviews.

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of progressive US corporate tax experience with a mix of federal, state and international tax and 2+ years of people management experience
- US multinational corporate tax experience handling financial statement accounting, federal and state U.S. income tax compliance, tax accounting methods, and tax planning
- Proficient knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting required
- Ability to work collaboratively across different geography, work independently and self-starter / proactive towards finding solutions to problems and issues.
- Certified Public Accountant license would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Oracle and Longview applications would be an advantage
- Mandarin language capability would be an advantage

The US base salary range for this position is $128,000 to $160,000 +benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
