IT Project Manager (Malaysia-based)




The IT Project Manager (PM) is responsible for driving strategic initiatives of the IT and Digital organization of Maxeon by formalizing the execution of key enterprise programs and projects at a regional and global level. The role is instrumental in ensuring that milestones and metrics tagged in a specific project are adhered to and done within an acceptable and agreed upon level of quality, schedule, scope, budget, risk, and resources. The PM will manage, oversee activities and complete tasks from a full cycle implementation – from project initiation until closing. To be successful in the role, the PM should have the right skill set and domain knowledge in project management gained through years of experience in handling complex and multi-faceted technology projects and transformation.




Project Delivery and Execution

  • Create the project charter and project plan based on approved business case by eliciting inputs from IT units, sponsoring business unit, third party providers, and customers
  • Manage project constraints such as scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk which are both interrelated and differentiated
  • Responsible for leveraging IT and digital technologies to automate and incorporate business process improvement
  • Develop the roadmap of critical programs and evaluate new IT and allied technologies which are relevant to the changing landscape of the business
  • Validate the requirements and needs of the business to ensure that the right solution and approach are considered
  • Evaluate together with technical teams, platform managers, and enterprise architects the project solution and provide optimal options to the business
  • Rigorously handle risk mitigation and issue resolution in consultation with affected parties or business units
  • Coordinate with relevant IT units and third-party providers the completion of assigned tasks and deliverables essential for project completion
  • Manage stakeholder relationship and advisory to the project steering committee and project teams, by being able to bring fresh perspective to any discussion or ideation
  • Organize cadence with the project team and set clear expectations on deliverables, responsibilities, and escalation matrices to ensure that everyone is aligned to project goals and outcomes
  • Facilitate project Kick-off, Go/No-Go meetings, decision gates, and project closing meetings
  • Consistently champion in the utilization of standard PM methodology, toolkit, and artifacts in managing projects
  • Evaluate overall project impact and ROI, including lessons learned upon project closure to ensure seamless transition to operations or business units


Resource Management and Team Collaboration

  • Utilize project resources such as financials and people in a responsible manner, ensuring the right level of transparency to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams within and outside of the technology function to develop the necessary solution needed by the project
  • Courageous and authentic in handling conflict management and resolution within project teams with the ability to mediate on pressing issues or concerns
  • Be the stalwart of project management and PMO practices through education and capability building of business units with tools, processes, and frameworks in project delivery


Project Tracking, Reporting, and Portfolio Management

  • Diligently track project progress and consistently report updates to the PMO Lead including the upkeep of respective project portfolios being manage
  • Ensure that project metrics are the right measures for success
  • Communicate to the business with brevity and focus to ensure that overall goals are met from the approved business case and project charter
  • Ability to translate technical dimensions of a project in a cohesive way understandable to the business and customers
  • Report project benefits based on planned and actual that can contribute to any cost savings, productivity savings, increased brand equity, risk and regulatory compliance
  • Project repository management to house all related project artifacts in a DMS or SharePoint with the end in the mind of project audit readiness




  • Graduate of any Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the STEM field
  • Master’s degree in any allied field is advantageous


Professional Experience and Credentials

  • More than five years’ experience in full-cycle implementation of corporate ERP systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP, Salesforce, Infor, and the like
  • Experience in implementing Information Security (ISMS) or Cyber Security programs including cloud security, application security, network operations center, and the like
  • Has mastery and proficiency to any two of these PM standards/methodologies: PMBOK, Prince2, SDLC, Agile, Lean
  • Hand-on usage and application of any of the following project management tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, Trello,, ServiceNow, and the like
  • Exposure to operational initiatives in a manufacturing environment is also beneficial
  • Have led Project Management capability building programs in the past such as training accidental project managers with PM methodologies and tools or have conducted information sessions and refreshers in project management
  • Certification and training to any recognized PM body such as PMI is valuable
