As we continue to grow, we are looking for a world-class Senior Global Commodity Manager based in the US and reporting to the Director of Supply Chain. In an industry that is reshaping the world’s energy future, there’s no better place to be.  

 

This exciting new role will be responsible for creating and setting the foundation of an entirely new solar supply chain in North America.  As Maxeon expands its cell and module production into the US, so shall the supply chain to support our operations. Establishing new supplier relationships, planning and implementing a strategy that secures a reliable and high value supply chain is essential.  The selected candidate will collaborate directly with other Global Commodity Managers (GCMs) to support solutions for each material from wafer to glass and frames. The role requires intelligence of the regional market and leading new opportunities that keep Maxeon cost competitive and aligned with dynamic global trade policies.  Requires Strong written and oral communication necessary to establish and build relationships with supplier’s key executives and effectively communicate to Maxeon’s senior management, supporting high level decisions. Responsibilities

  • Oversee activity across large multi-functional areas, including R&D, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Legal, and Finance.
  • Supplier selection and account management for North American operations with coordination across all global operations
  • Price negotiations, terms, contracts, forecasting, inventory control, and supporting the technical and cost roadmap for each commodity localized.
  • Develop strategies to continuously improve cost, quality, delivery, inventory, technology, and sustainability within your scope.
  • Improve transparency to the value of localizing supply chain such as technical collaboration, working capital, cost of poor quality, and government incentives.
  • Prepare and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews, Cost Roadmap Reviews, supplier audits, and any commodity strategy reviews under your ownership.
  • Maintain market and competitive intelligence through local conferences and supplier engagement, and then bring to the team to support strategic supply chain decisions.
  • Provide resolution to vendor disputes and any commodity-related issues. 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, economics, or a similar field
  • 6+ of related experience in a supply chain organization
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to effectively use systems and create cost models
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with personnel from various departments.  Highly disciplined and organized
  • Possess tenacity and resilience to reach goals with ethics and integrity
  • Good stakeholder management
  • Sourcing and supply chain experience 
  • Ability to plan and execute and good problem solving skills

 

It would be Nice if You Have: 

  • MBA or other advanced degree in related discipline
  • Strong solar market experience with comprehensive knowledge of the upstream and downstream market 
  • Project management skills
