ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with Beyond The Panel R&D team and product management to qualify Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) and Storage vendors
  • Liaising with vendors’ on Maxeon internal test requirements (e.g. extended testing) and reviewing test data
  • Assess, plan, establish and coordinate Maxeon as well as vendors’ reliability test capabilities, capacities, and requirements  
  • Work together with R&D team to plan and design test plans required for MLPE and storage component qualifications
  • Collaborate with third party labs, and be able to provide technical evaluations of vendor qualification programs and results
  • Develop company technology and product goals, plan technology projects and deliver these goals using the Maxeon business processes  
  • FMEA support for new products, technologies, and design changes with R&D and vendors’ collaboration 
  • Provide technical expertise and testing guides to MLPE and Storage vendors 
  • Ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met, delivered on time, and adhere to approved budgets 
  • Provide excellent communication within Maxeon to facilitate tracking and coordinating technology and product development goals and milestones
  • Benchmark existing and future technologies
  • Support and coordinate MLPE and storage certification (e.g. component, safety) through external labs
  • Liaise and communicate with Quality & Reliability team on all test, qual and vendor-related information

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Preferred: PhD or Masters degree
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 6-year experience with Bachelors’ Degree, minimum 4-year experience with Master’s Degree, minimum 2-year experience with Ph.D.
  • Fair knowledge in Inverters, Energy storage and Energy management products
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to solve cross-disciplinary problems 
  • Able to work in lab environment, design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and report experimental results
  • Quick learner, independent, able to work and deliver results with minimum supervision 
  • Strong reliability and R&D background
  • Experience with failure analysis and resolution techniques such as 5-Whys, 8D, and Ishikawa diagrams
  • Substantial knowledge in Energy storage system and components’ reliability, including modeling and testing, certification requirements
  • Proven record of working very effectively with multiple organizations both within a company and outside the company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on flexible thinking and creativity
  • Willing to travel in Asia, US and Europe up to 30% of the time for vendor visits and installations

 

Preferred requirements 

  • Extensive experience with highly accelerated life tests such as damp heat, thermal cycling, vibration/shock, UV exposure, and lifetime modeling
  • Knowledge of laboratory and equipment safety standards 
  • Knowledge of energy storage and PV components’ landscape and high value add market opportunities 
  • Ability to handle complex and multiple projects simultaneously within the project timeline, including knowledge of best project management principles and tools 
  • Good understanding of people and business management principles
  • Good in Chinese (spoken and written); fair command in English (spoken and written)
