Are you ready to power positive change?  

Your Mission: As our Automation Principal Engineer, based in Mexicali, Baja California and reporting to the Manager, Equipment & Automation, your role will be pivotal planning, designing, developing, evaluating, selecting & ordering equipment for the development of new company products & for cost-effective manufacture of existing company products. Overseeing installation, modification, upgrade & maintenance of prototype, lab & manufacturing equipment. Maintaining vendor networks to stay updated on trends and developments in the equipment industry. Providing technical support to the process development, process engineering & manufacturing equipment maintenance engineering organizations. Designing experiments, compiles & evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits & variables for equipment design specifications.

Make Your Mark: How You Will Drive Change:

•  Establishes programs & solutions for increasing uptime & for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
• Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure that equipment meets process, manufacturing & safety requirements as well as operation cost targets.
• Plan projects involving definition & selection of new concepts, equipment technology & approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.

• Demonstrates broad-based technical experience.

• Generally regarded as an expert in the specific field of the assignment.
• Proficient in modeling the business influences of process/ equipment qualification and development (e.g. manufacturing cost, product value, NPV).
• Technical leader within an assignment or project area.
• Uses expertise to identify opportunities for operational, technology and talent improvement and the application of external industry st practices.

It would be Nice if You Have:

• B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Electromechanical) and 5+ years of related experience or M.S. Degree and 3+ years or Ph.D. 2+ years
• OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
• Equipment qualification and development experience
• Project Management
• Automation experience
