Job Description
We are seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead and manage our Commercial sales team across the continental US in close partnership with our NA Director of Sales. This role will be responsible for developing, managing and growing a team of Regional Commercial Sales Managers; as well as co-developing sales strategies in close collaboration with sales and channel program leadership. A successful candidate for this position will add value in their seat at the strategic table, but will spend most of their time and focus in the field, in front of customers alongside their RSMs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of Regional Commercial Sales Managers across the continental US to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Lead from the front, closing volume commitments and modeling well-honed prospecting, negotiation, closing and training techniques for RSMs.
- Develop RSM talent through continuous coaching in the field.
- Build strong relationships with key commercial customers and partners to drive business growth and maintain a strong market presence.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Work collaboratively with other departments, including Marketing, Product Development, Operations and Leadership to ensure market feedback is percolated swiftly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales leadership roles within the solar industry, preferably with a premium player.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM software is preferred
