- Solar cell or semiconductor device physics background
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with engineering statistics and statistical software (e.g., JMP)
- Exposure to statistical process control (SPC) in a production environment
Roles are available within the following engineering functions:
- The IBC Process Group is responsible for developing and demonstrating the process steps required to fabricate IBC cell technologies. We have sub-teams focused on specific process technologies including wet chemical, diffusion, thin films, patterning and metrology. We work closely with the Architecture Team and Metallization Group to develop the process steps they need. Our work spans from Lab-based ideation through to Pilot-line demonstration of a first-scalable unit capable of high-volume manufacturing.
- The IBC metallization group works to increase efficiency and cut the cost of the world’s best solar cells through innovative approaches to cell and module metallization. We are a cross-functional team of process, equipment, and reliability engineers who produce solutions using rapid prototyping, robust process development, failure analysis, modeling, and accelerated stress tests in the lab to design and deploy processes and equipment at pilot scale in our high-volume factories.
- The architecture team is responsible for developing the next solar cell technologies and maintaining Maxeon’s product leadership. Our goals in the next few years are to set the standard in solar cell efficiency reliability and energy yield and then make sure it all happens on a process that is run in manufacturing successfully.
The pay range for this role is $80,000-120,000k. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location.
